How? Find an Assister in your area by clicking on your county.
We understand that getting or understanding health insurance can feel hard. So we have trained people in your community that can help you. The are called Assisters. They are professionals who are trained and certified by Department of Vermont Health Access to help Vermonters understand and enroll in health coverage in-person or virtually through Vermont Health Connect or Green Mountain Care. They can answer questions, walk you through an application, and if you allow it, communicate directly with Vermont Health Connect on your behalf.
The organizations on the list below have certified Assisters on staff. They assist Vermonters who are existing patients or clients. Please call the organization ahead of your visit to see if they are accepting new clients and to schedule an appointment.

$ -- Organizations with a dollar sign charge a fee for their services. These are Insurance Brokers.

Call the Senior Helpline at 1-800-642-5119 in the following situations:
- If you are 65 or older, or you are on Medicare because of blindness or disability. They can answer your questions, including how to enroll in Medicare. They can also help you to choose a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. You may also qualify for State of Vermont programs, including Medicaid, that help reduce the cost of Medicare. Call Green Mountain Care at 1-800-250-8427 to find out more information.
